2024, You Hot Mess! is an end-of-year sketch comedy show that pokes fun, celebrates, observes, and satirizes the most outrageous and unforgettable moments of the past year. Written and created by Lory Tatoulian, the show features a stellar cast of talented actors and comedians, delivering a mix of comedy sketches, musical numbers, impersonations, and improvisations. Together, they recap everything from major news events to pop culture phenomena—and even the small, personal moments that didn’t make the headlines.
This show holds up a funhouse mirror to the chaos of 2024: from the rise of A.I. to the pandemonium of the elections, the bizarre drama of the Olympics, the surreal spectacle of the Great American Eclipse, and yes, the Dodgers finally clinching the World Series - we barrel through it all like a Tesla truck with no brakes!
Too soon to laugh at it all? Maybe. But hey, laughter is cheaper than therapy…
Lory Tatoulian is currently a performer and teacher at The Groundlings Theater. She has created, written, and produced 10 different sketch comedy installments of The Big Bad Armo Show which has toured nationwide, including five sold-out runs Off-Broadway at New York’s Symphony Space; the show was currently featured in the PBS documentary, What Will Become Of Us. With hundreds of sketches written and performed, featuring a whirlwind of characters, The Big Bad Armo Show holds up a fun house mirror to the Armenian American community. Tatoulian just wrapped a run of her Valentine's "Hump Day" sketch comedy show, featuring a cast of 15 actors and musicians, to packed houses at the Colony Theatre.
Recently, she has been performing a-lot of stand-up, seamlessly transitioning between multiple original characters and impressions, including beloved personas like "Sossi." Notably, Tatoulian has written for Warner Brother’s feature animation film “Smallfoot” and Sony Pictures “Surf’s Up.”
With a cast of 30 comedians, she was also the lead creator and writer of the satiric coverage for Meghan and Prince Harry’s Royal Wedding broadcast on local television station, Horizon. Her comedic chronicles may be read on NPR’s Multi-American Blog.
Tatoulian has been featured on NPR, PBS, The LA Weekly, LA Times, Voyage Magazine and has been awarded a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, and received three proclamations from the City of Los Angeles and the State of California for her work in the theater. Initially, Lory captivated audiences with solo shows such as Sitting Twisted Talking Straight, UnPlucked, Pomegranate Whisky, and Autosapiens, which won the 'Best Show' Award at The San Diego Repertory Theater. Lory got her start as a 10-year-old impersonating Elvis at a retirement home in Reedley, CA.

On a theater stage in Atwater, a group of local comics rehearses one last time before they rush home to pack costumes and wigs and catch a red–eye to New York...
Lory Tatoulian was a showstopper, reprising her character Sossi Hayrabedian, a Ross Dress for Less-clad Armenian running for president, who harangued the crowd and left us in tears. And Reggie Watts closed out the night with his signature bizarre observational stylings.
“I would say she’s edgy,” said Jesse Beers, 25, one of the people in the audience. “She deals with issues that are going on today. Although she’s edgy, it’s not in a way that’s hurtful.”
